Automatic gates are one of those things you don't know you need until you've got them. No more getting out of the car in the rain, no more gates left lying open, and a lot more peace of mind with kids and dogs about.
I fit automatic gates on homes right across Northern Ireland – new gates or your existing ones.
Why people go automatic
- Convenience. Press a button in the car and the gate opens before you reach it.
- Security. The gate shuts behind you and stays locked. See benefits of electric gates for security.
- Kids and pets. A closed gate keeps them off the road.
- Privacy. Solid gates keep your driveway and garden private.
- Kerb appeal. A good set of gates finishes off the front of a house.

Opening the gate
Remotes are the usual choice, but you can add a video intercom, a keypad, fobs or app control on your phone. See access control.
Safe for your family
Automatic gates must stop and reverse if anything's in the way. I fit photocells and safety edges as needed, and force test every gate to BS EN 12453 before handing it over.

Questions people ask me
Are automatic gates worth it?
For most people who use their driveway every day, yes – for the convenience, security and peace of mind alone.
What happens if the power goes?
The gate stays put. Battery backup keeps it working, and the manual release lets you open it by hand.
Can I open the gate from my phone?
Yes – app control can be added to most systems.
