Electric Gate Repairs in Belfast and Northern Ireland

Electric gates are great – right up until they stop working. Then they're a real pain. Stuck open, stuck shut, opening on their own or making a racket: whatever your gate's doing, give me a call and I'll get it working again.

I've been repairing electric gates for 25 years, and I work on all the major brands, whoever installed them.

Beninca, CAME, FAAC, BFT, Nice, SEA, Gibidi, Allmatic, V2, Key Automation and Chamberlain LiftMaster – plus DEA System and Fadini, which I install. See gate repairs by brand.

Not sure what make you've got? Send me a photo of the motor or the control box and I'll tell you.

What I fix

  • Gates that won't open or close – see gate won't open and gate won't close
  • Motors and gearboxes – worn, stripped, seized or burnt out
  • Control boards – water damage, lightning and power surges, failed components
  • Safety devices – photocells, safety edges and other sensors
  • Remotes, keypads and intercoms – see remote and intercom repairs
  • Power problems – tripping, no power, faults after a power cut
  • Hinges, posts and alignment – sagging, dropped or binding gates
  • Sliding gates – tracks, wheels, racks and end stops
  • Hydraulic motors – leaks, loss of pressure and slow operation

How a repair works

  1. Tell me what's happening. A phone call, text or WhatsApp – a short video of the gate trying to move is gold.
  2. I diagnose the fault. On site, with the right test kit.
  3. You get a price before I do the work. No nasty surprises.
  4. I fix it and test it. Including checking the safety devices, so the gate's safe as well as working.

If a repair isn't worth doing – say the motor is obsolete and parts are impossible to get – I'll tell you honestly. Read repair or replace?

Before you call

Some problems you can safely check yourself, like dirty photocells or flat remote batteries. Have a look at my troubleshooting guides. Please don't open up the control box or bypass safety devices – that's a job for a qualified engineer.

Keep it working

Most breakdowns I see could have been caught at a service. Once your gate's fixed, think about a yearly service – see electric gate maintenance.
